R.Parthiban joins the cast of “Daredevil”

R. Parthiban will share the screen with Ajith Kumar for the first time in the forthcoming film Daredevil, the inaugural production of Shalini Ajithkumar’s own banner, Bravehearts Production LLP. Although R.Parthiban and Ajith Kumar had shared screen credits in two previous movies – the 1999 film Nee Varuvaay Enna and the 2000 film Unnai Kodu Ennai Tharuven – neither of these films saw the two actors share the screen.

Ajith Kumar also made a special request to director Adhik Ravichandran to cast Prabhu in the film. These two actors have a strong bond, having appeared together in films like Billa, Asal (also produced by Prabhu), Viswasam and Good Bad Ugly.

Popular Telugu actor Sunil (Pushpa 1 & 2, Maaveeran, Jailer, Mark Antony and Janayagan) will also play an important role.

Modha Rathri director’s upcoming ventures

Raja Karuppasamy, the young director who made his debut through the hit film Modha Rathri has been signed on to play the lead role in a film produced by his idol and mentor, Kamal Haasan under the banner Raaj Kamal Films International. This will commence once he completes a film for Mythri Movie Makers in which Raja will also play the lead roles under his own direction. Mythri Movie Makers were the producers of Modha Rathri. Raja has also hinted at a possible sequel to Modha Rathri.

Trisha in talks to play Jayalalitha

Trisha is currently in talks to play the role of Jayalalitha in the forthcoming biopic on actor-turned-Chief Minister M.G. Ramachandran titled Puratchi Thalaivan MGR. JM Bashir will play the role of MGR. JM Bashir is also the producer of the film.

Maniratnam’s Iruvar (1997) and A.L. Vijay’s Thalaivii (2021) were earlier films that featured different takes on M.G. Ramachandran’s life, while the 2019 web series Queen, a biopic on Jayalalitha, also featured M.G. Ramachandran.

Sasi’s long delayed film gets a release date

Sasi, the director of Pichaikaaran (2016) and Sivappu Manjal Pachai (2019) finally has a release date for his long-delayed film titled Nooru Kodi Vaanavil. The film was originally scheduled to release in 2023 but suffered numerous setbacks. It will now release directly on OTT on Zee5 on 04 November.

Harish Kalyan (Diesel, Lubber Pandhu and Parking) and Siddhi Idnani (Drones, Retta Thala and Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu) will play the lead roles, supported by Kovai Sarala, Thambi Ramaiah and Chinni Jayanth.

Ashok Selvan with director of Dada

The success of the recently released Anbil Avan has further extended the marketability of actor Ashok Selvan. He is to team up Ganesh Babu, the director of Dad, in a big budget film. Ganesh Babu is currently directing Karathey Babu, which has Ravi Mohan (Jayam Ravi) in the lead role.

Suriya’s Scene ready for release

The Suriya-Nazriya Nazim starrer, Scene, the action comedy directed by Jithu Madhavan, has been censored with a U/A classification and a running time of 2 hours, 29 minutes. The trailer will release this weekend.

Niram to release globally on 27 Nov 2026

Mugen Rao (Velan and Jinn the Pet) plays the lead role in the medical crime thriller titled Niram. The female lead is played by Preethi Asrani (Ayothi, Kiss and 29) with Tanya Hope (Thadam, Dharala Prabhu and Kick), Surekha Vani (Mersal and Master) and producer-actor Nitin Sathya (Saroja, Aranmanai and Muthirai). The film will be directed by newcomer Balaram Krishna and will feature music by D. Imman.
