The Government of Tamil Nadu has announced the latest list of recipients of the Kalaimaamani Award, the state’s highest civilian honour, awarded to people in various categories.
The 2021 recipients include actress Sai Pallavi, actor S.J. Surya, Director J. Lingusamy, Art Director M. Jayakumar and stunt director Super Subbarayan.
The 2022 recipients – also announced today – include actos Vikram Prabhu and Jaya Guhanathan, lyricist Viveka, Public Relations Officer Diamond Baby abbd still photographer D. Lakshmikanthan.
The 2023 awardees include actors Manikandan and George Maryan, music composer Anirudh Ravichander, playback singer Shweta Mohan, dance choreographer A. Santhoshkumar (Sandy) and Public Relations Officer Nikil Murugan.
In addition, the committee also announced the recipients of special awards: Veteran playback singer K.J. Yesudas will receive the M.S. Subbulakshmi Award. Apart from the 24-gram gold medal, he will also be presented with 2 lakh rupees.
The recipients will be presented with a shield and a 24 gram gold medal by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin at a special ceremony next month.
