Tragedy has struck on the sets of Pa. Ranjith’s Arya starrer, Vettuvam when stuntman Mohan Raj was killed during the filming of a car stunt that went horribly wrong.
Mohan Raj had driven on a built ramp a fraction to the left, causing the vehicle to lose control and somersault.
The crew rushed Mohan Raj to the Nagapattinam Government Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
The 52-year old Mohan Raj, also known as SM Raju, was an experienced stunt artist.
One of the first to react on a public platform on the incident was actor Vishal who promised that he would personally see to it that Mohan Raj’s family would be well taken care of.
The incident has sparked fresh discussion on the need for adequate safety measures and the need for paramedics on site when risky shots are being filmed.
