Samantha Ruth Prabhu was born on 28 April 1987 to a Telugu father and a Malayali mother. She was educated in Chennai and is fluent in Tamil, Telugu and English.
Samantha made her film debut in Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Ye Maaya Chesave which was the Telugu version of Vinaithaandi Varuvaaya – Both films were made simultaneously, Her first Tamil film was Bana Kaathaadi opposite Adharva.
She has acted opposite Vijay in Kaththi,Theri, Mersa, opposite Suriya in 24 and Anjaan, opposite Jiiva in Neethane en Ponvasantham, opposite Vikram in 10 Endrathukulla, opposite Vishal in Irumbu thirai, opposite Sivakarthikeyan in Seema Raja and opposite Vijay Sethupathy in Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal.
Samantha is no stranger to controversy but still has a loyal following. She was married to Naga Chaitanya in 2017 but the couple divorced in 2021.
