Jayapradha is a Telugu actress whose filmography is dominated by Telugu and Hindi films.
She was born in Andhra Pradesh on 03 April 1962 as Lalitha Rani Rao and changed her name to Jayapradha after joining the film industry.
Her limited Tamil roles featured her in some of the finest films with great critical acclaim. This began with her first Tamil film, Manmatha Leelai directed by K Balachander and starring Kamalhaasan in the lead role. She also acted in K. Balachander’s 47 Natkal and Ninaithale Inikkum – playing vastly different characters in each.Her other critically acclaimed role was opposite Kamalhaasan in Salangai Oli, the Tamil version of K.Viswanath’s Kamalhaasan starrer, Sagara Sangamam.
She is still considered to be one of the most beautiful faces of Indian cinema.
Jayapradha has retired from films but is still actively involved in politics in her home state.
