A. Hariharan Birthday Special

Playback singer and music composer A. Hariharan was born on 03 April 1955. He has sung more than 15 000 songs in 14 languages across various styles, including Carnatic, Ghazal, Classical, fusion, pop. A two-time national award winner, he was conferred with the Padmashri in 2004.

He was introduced to Tamil playback singing by AR Rahman in the 1992 hit film, Roja. Thus began a long and successful association between the two of them.

In 1996 Hariharan formed the band called Colonial Cousins with Mumbai’based Lesle Lewis. He has since collaborated with a wide range of artists in multiple languages and across several countries.

Hariharan continues to record film songs and also has regular concerts.
