Selvaraghavan is the elder brother of actor Dhanush. He made his unofficial debut as a director through Dhanush’s debut movie, Thulluvadho Illamai where their father, Kasthuriraja was credited as the director. His official debut came with Kaadhal Konndain in 2003 – probably his best work to date.
He then made his foray into other themes in films with films like the action thriller, Puthupettai and the fantasy adventure Aayirathil Oruvan. After directing films in various genres, he made his acting debut in Vijay’s Beast.
He was married to actress Sonia Agarwal for two years before they filed for divorce by mutual consent. He subsequently married Gitanjali Raman, his assistant director in Mayakkam Enna. Selvaraghavan’s last released film as director was the thriller Naane Varavaen. He is currently working on the sequel to 7G Rainbow Colony.
