The makers of Vijay’s 69th film have announced on Republic Day the film’s title Jana Nayagan – a fitting title for the political action thriller directed by H. Vinod (Director of Theeran Adhiigaaram Ondru, Ner Konda Paarvai, Valimai and Thunivu).
The film was formally launched last September and was initially set for release on 17 October 2025. However, some changes to the schedule could mean a postponement of the release to Pongal 2026. No official announcement has been made regarding a possible postponement.
The film, which has been announced as the final film of Vijay, sees Vijay opposite Pooja Hegde. Mumbai’s Bobby Deol (son of Dharmendra), Gautham Vasudev Menon, Narain, Prakash Raj, Mational award winner Priyamani and Varaluxmi Sarathkumar are also in the cast. Anirudh Ravichander scores the music – his fifth collaboration with Vijay and his first for H Vinod.
