Impact of the song

This is not quite a remix as it retains the instrumentation and tempo of the original. The magic of the song is not diminished by the new singers although the fact that it is a duet takes some getting used to.

Vocal rendition

The song begins with the voice of Super Singer star, Priya Jersen with a fresh interpretation of the diction while staying largely true to the original. The introduction of Vijay Yesudas brings goose bumps because of how similar his voice is to his father’s, especially in his opening lines. The voices blend well in the duet, but it does take some getting used to for those who have listened multiple times to the original.

Yuvan has remained faithful to the original with only minute changes to the original orchestration

It is interesting to see how far ahead of his time Gangaiamaran was when he wrote these lyrics. The lyrics stand tall among the lyrics of other modern songs with the poetic value of the words and lines bonding gleefully to the music.

Final Analysis

This is a brilliant tribute to K. J Yesudas on his birthday and what better way to do so than to use his son to sing the song. This song is sure to delight a new generation of listeners.
