Prabhu recovering at home
Prabhu, the son of the legendary Sivaji Ganesan, has now been discharged from hospital after undergoing emergency surgery last Friday.
The 67-year old actor was admitted to the Medway Heerat Institute Hospital following the onset of a fever and severe headaches. According to DR T Palaniyappan, Chairman of the Hospital, Prabhu “had a bulge or ballooning at the top of the internal carotid artery at the bifurcation of the middle cerebral artery, a major blood vessel supplying blood to a large portion of the brain” – a condition that is sometimes referred to as cerebral aneurysm. This meant that urgent surgery was necessary. The surgery involved implanting a flow diverter in a surgical procedure called coil embolization.
Doctors were happy with his reaction to the procedure and discharged him. He is currently recovering at home.
Vishal’s doctor allays fans’ fears
Thousands of fans expressed concern at the health of actor Vishal after a video of his speech at the pre-release vent of his next film Madha Gaja Raja went viral. In the video, Vishal seems frail and almost disoriented and could hardly hold the mike while his hands shook uncontrollably.
It was subsequently revealed that Vishal had a viral infection and had a bout of very high fever. He was advised to stay away from the event but insisted on attending despite his ill health.
The event was held on Sunday ahead of the Pongal release of the film. Madha Gaja Raja faced multiple problems and is releasing 13 years after completion.
