Song : Sol Nee Sol
Film/Album : Nesipaya
Singers : Yuvanshankar Raja
Lyrics : Pa. Vijay
Music : Yuvanshankar Raja
Impact of the song
This is easily one of the best love-separation songs I have heard in a long time and gives a similar feel to the hit song Ennai Vittu Uyir Ponaalum
Vocal rendition
Yuvan puts heart and soul into this rendition and the end product is a euphonic rendition that captures emotion very effectively.
Musical Arrangement
Yuvan has now mastered the art of creating maximum effect through uncomplicated arrangements and instrumentation. In this song, it is particularly effective, as it gives the necessary prominence to the vocals.
Lyrics
Pa. Vijay has struck gold with the penning of this song. The simplicity of the words contrasts sharply with the strong emotive content. However, it is not just the diction that makes this song special: The pain and aftermath of a separation are captured very effectively, maximising the beauty of the Tamil language.
Final Analysis
Sol Nee Sol now joins the long list of memorable break-up and love-separation songs that have become the hallmark of Yuvan’s best remembered songs.
