New milestone for Sivakarthikeyan and Amaran
The 18th of November saw the Sivakarthikeyan-Sai Pallavi starrer, Amaran cross the 300-crore mark at the worldwide box-office, now claiming 8th place in the highest grossing Tamil films of all time. The film will be releasing on Netflix on 29 November.
Unconfirmed reports state that Sivakarthikeyan is currently in talks with director H Vinoth. Vinoth is currently directing Vijay’s 69th and last film. Sivakarthikeyan is currently shooting for his 23rd film, which is helmed by A.R. Murugadoss and scheduled for release in May 2025. The untitled film also has Rukmini Vasanth, Vidyut Jammwal and Biju Menon.
Sivakarthikeyan’s other films include his 24th with Cibi Chakravarrthy, the director of Don. His 25th film with Sudha Kongara, director of Soorararai Pottru, his 26th film with Venkat Prabhu (The Greatest of all Time), a film for Ramkumar Balakrishnan (Director of Parking) and one for Vinayak Chandrasekaran (director of Good Night)
Lubber Pandhu-fame Attakathi Dinesh’s next film
Attakathi Dinesh’s collaboration with director Pa. Vijay was announced shortly after the release and success of Lubber Pandhu. Titled Vettuvam, The film will see popular actor Arya playing the villain. Pa. Vijay intends to have many famous actor and actresses in cameos in this movie
RJ Balaji deftly sidesteps questions on Mookuththi Amman 2
When the sequel to RJ Balaje’s successful movie Mookuththi Amman was launched, everyone was surprised that the RJ-turned actor and director was not part of the sequel. In recent interviews, Balaje confirmed that he was not part of the sequel but did not give reasons for how and why this happened.
Instead, he is proceeding with his directorial that has Suriya in the lead role. This is the second time that Balaje had approached Suriya to act under his direction.
Balaje is also working on the film Sorga Vasal which sees him play the lead role under the direction of Siddharth Vishwanath and co-written by Thamizh Prabha and Ashwin Ramachandran. Selvaraghavan, Natty and Karunas will also play important roles in Sorga Vasal
