With the runaway success of Amaran at the box-office, all eyes are on Sivakarthikeyan because his massive growth as an actor. He is currently completing work for his untitled project with A.R.Murugadhaas.
Sivakarthikeyan’s 25th film will be directed by Soorarai Pottru director, Sudha Kongara. Titled Purananooru, the film was initially slated to star Surya, Dulquer Salman and Nazriya Nazim but Surya dropped out for unknown reasons. It is still unclear whether Dulquer Salman and Nazriya Nazim will still be part of the cast.
Set in the 1970s, Purananooru explores the now sensitive topic of the anti-Hindi movement that began in Tamil Nadu in the 1960s and escalated into the 1970s. The movement has gained new momentum in recent times.
GV Prakash, who is still basking in his success with the soundtracks of this year’s Deepavali released Amaran and Lucky Bhaskar, will score the music in Purananooru.
