70th Filmfare Awards – Winners in Tamil Category

The Sivakarthikeyan-Sai Pallavi starrer, Amaran dominated the 70th Filmfare Awards announced this week. The moving biopic on Major Mukund Varadarajan won seven major awards, while the Aravind Swami-Karthi starrer, Meiyyazhagan picked upfour major awards.

Of significance is that Sivakartikeyan’s production, Kottukaali, which had Soori in the lead role won Best Director and Best Lead Actress although the film failed at the box-office.
