Mani Ratnam to direct Dhruv Vikram

After the failure of Thug Life at the box-office, Maniratnam has decided to change track in his next film, which will have Dhruv Vikram in the lead role opposite Rukmini Vasanth of Ace fame. A.R. Rahman will score the music. There has been much speculation ranging from an action romance to a cop thriller, but there has been no official announcement about the film’s genre. The film is set to start shooting this November.
Gangaiamaran to debut as lead actor

For the very first time, Gangaiamaran – the younger brother of Isai Gnani Illaiyaraja and the father of Venkat Prabhu and Premgi – will make his debut as a lead actor in the forthcoming film, Lenin Pandiyan. Also making his debut in the film will be Dhaarshan Ganesan, the grandson of the legendary Sivaji Ganesan. The film is written and directed by D.D. Balachandran in his directorial debut, and will see Badava-fame Shrita Rao in the female lead. Lenin Pandiyan is produced by Sathya Jyothi Film and will have cinematography by A.M. Edwin Sakay, whose credits include Endhiran and Aneethi.
Sirrai takes its inspiration from real life

Sirrai is another film to launch new talent. Suresh Rajakumari, former assistant to Vettrimaran, will make his directorial debut with Vikram Prabhu and Anantha in the female lead. The film also marks the screen debut of L.K. Akshay Kumar, son of producer, S.S. Lalit Kumar. The story is penned by Thamizh, who scripted and directed Vikram Prabhu’s 2022 film, Taanakaaran. The film is based on a real incident that involved Thamizh when he was a police officer.
