Gandham Sriprasad is better known as Devi Sri Prasad or DSP. He was born on 02 August 1979 in Vedurupaka in Andhra Pradesh.

He made his entry onto the music scene with an independent album for which he partnered with S.P. Charan, the son of S.P. Balasubramaniyam. He made his debut as a music composer when he was only 19 for the Telugu film Devi.

He made his debut to Tamil in 2003 with Sakthi Chidambaram’s Inidhu Inidhu Kaadhal Inidhu, followed soon after with the R. Raghuraj’s Ice.

He had moderate success with his subsequent Tamil albums, but shot to fame in 2005 with the soundtrack of Vijay’s Sachein, and had another hit with Unakkum Enakkum Something Something. Two years later, he had a bigger hit with the soundtrack of Santosh Subramaniam, followed by the soundtrack of Vijay’s Villu a year later.

DSP is also a talented singer and has thus far recorded 66 songs in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. He has also written over 25 lyrics in Tamil and Telugu.

In 2021, DSP won the National Award for Best Music for the film Pushpa. He has also won 10 Filmfare Awards, 8 CineMAA awards as well as numerous international awards and state awards.

He is a huge fan of Isai Gnani Illaiyaraja and Michael Jackson.
