Dulquer Salmaan is the son of the legendary actor, Mammooty. He made his debut to the Tamil screen in the bilingual film Vaayai Moodi pesuvum, made simultaneously in Tamil and Malayalam.
He then played the lead role in Mani Ratnam’s Oh Kaadhal Kanmani opposite Nithya Menen.
In 2017 he starred in the dual language film Solo in which he played four roles.
In 2020 he played the lead role in Desingh Periyasamy’s directorial debut, Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal.
His last released Tamil film is Hey Sinamika which marked the directorial debut of Brinda.
Dulquer Salmaan’s next Tamil film is a bilingual titled Kantha which is rumoured to be a biopic on the legendary actor, M.R. Radha and where Dulquer will play the role of Tamil cinema’s first superstar, M.K. Thyagaraja Bhagavathar.
Dulquer Salmaan is also an accomplished singer, voice artist, producer and distributor.
