Actress Sripriya starred in more than 300 films in various languages, with approximately 200 of them in Tamil. She has also directed films in Tamil, Kannada and Telugu, including the 2014 Telugu remake of Drishyam.
She made her debut in the semi-religious film Murugan Kaatiya Vazhi directed by P.Madhavan and soon found herself sharing the screen withSivaji Ganesan, MG Ramchandran, Jaishankar, Rajinikanth and Kamalhaasan. She shared the screen with Rajinikanth in 28 films and 25 films with Kamalhaasan.
She made her directorial debut with the 1984 Mohan starrer, Shanthi Muhurtham. Sripriya loves writing and painting and is also a trained classical dancer.
In 1988 she married Rajkumar Sethupathy, the brother of yesteryear actress, Latha.
Apart from her film career, Srtipriya is now actively involved in politics, now a core committee member of Makkal Neethi Maiam founded by Kamalhaasan.
