The teaser for Ajith Kumar’s next film promises a treat for fans of mass action movies in general and for Ajithkumar fans in particular. 17 hours after the release of the teaser, it had crossed 21 million views on YouTube.
The teaser features Ajith Kumar in various looks of his career and looks set to be an action-packed film. For the sixth time, Ajith Kumar’s lead actress will be Trisha (They had earlier appeared together in Ji, Kireedam,Mankatha, Unnai Arindhaal and Vidaa Muyarchi). The supporting cast includes Prabhu, Prasanna, Arjun Das, Sunil, Rahul Dev and Yogi Babu. A surprise addition to the cast – revealed only in the teaser – is BS Avinash (KGF Chapters 1 & 2 and Kanguva).
Music is scored by GV Prakash Kumar, marking only his second film for Ajithkumar, having first worked with him in the AL Vijay directorial, Kireedam.
Good Bad Ugly features scenes filmed on location in the United Kingdom and Spain.
The film was first discussed during the making of Ner Konnda Paarvai where Adhik Ravichandran was playing the character, Vishwa. After Ajith Kumar had completed shooting for Valimai and Thunivu, Adhik Ravichandran quickly wrapped up the Prabhu Deva starrer, Bagheera and the Vishal-SJ Surya starrer, Mark Antony, and finalised the deal with Ajithkumar in October 2023. The film was formally launched on 14 April 2024 and began filming in June 2024.
Good Bad Ugly marks Adhik Ravichandran’s fifth directorial. He made his debut with Trisha Illana Nayanathara (2015), followed by Anbanavan Arasadhavan Adangathavan (2017), Bagheera and then Mark Antony (2023).
Good Bad Ugly was made on a budget of more than 31 million US Dollars and marks the maiden Tamil production of Telugu film producers, Mythri Movie Makers. The film releases worldwide on 10 April 2025. The streaming rights have been purchased by Netflix for INR 95 crores (approximately USD 51 million).
