Thangalaan at Rotterdam Film Festival today
Pa Ranjith’s Special Directors’ Cut version of Thangalaan will be screened at the Rotterdam International Film Festival today (01 Feb 2025). The film, which released on 15 August last year to rave reviews, also stars Daniel Caltagirone, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathy and Hari Krishnan.
Controversial film shortlisted for International award
The controversial film Bad Girl produced by Vettrimaran and Anurag Kashyap and directed by Varsha Bharath is in the running for the Tiger Award, competing against 12 other films for the title. The film stars Anjali Sivaraman and has been the hot topic of discussion since the release of its teaser a week ago.

Arun Vijay to play the antagonist in Idly Kadai
Arun Vijay has confirmed his presence in Dhanush’s IIdly Kadai and is reportedly playing a negative role. The film also stars Nithya Menen, Shalini Pandey, Prakash Raj and Rajkiran. GV Prakash Kumar scores the music. The film is set for release on 10 April 2025.
Director Ram’s Parrandhu Po at Rotterdam Film Festival
Mirchi Shiva is to team up with Director Ram for a comedy entertainer titled Parandhu Po. This film will premiere at the Rotterdam International Film Festival. Co-starring with Shiva are Grace Antony, Mitul Ryan M, Vijay . Yesudas, Anjali, and Aju Varghese. Santhosh Dhayanidhi scores music for the songs while Yuvanshankar Raja has composed the background score. Ram is the director of films like Kattradhu Thamizh, Thanga Meengal and the soon-to-be-released Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai.
Parandhu Po will not release in India theatricallby, but release on TVV via the Disney Plus Hotstar platform.
