Amy Jackson: The British beauty who won Tamil hearts.

Amy Louise Jackson was born in the Isle of Man on 31 January 1992. She began at modelling at the age of 14 and later won Miss Teen Liverpool and Miss Teen Great Britain titles before going on to win Miss Teen World in 2009. She was also the runner-up to the Miss England title in 2010.

In 2010, director AL Vijay had seen her photo on the Miss Teen World website. He called her for an audition and signed her up to play the lead role opposite Arya in Madrassapattinam.

She was then signed on by Gautham Vasudev Menon to play the role played by Trisha in the Hindi remake of Vinaithandi Varuvaaya. She went on to play memorable roles in Thaandavam and I opposite Vikram, in Thanga Magan opposite Dhanush, in Gethu opposite Udhayanidhi Stalin, opposite Vijay in Their, opposite Rajinikanth in 2.0 and opposite Arun Vijay in Mission: Chapter 1.

She is deeply involved in numerous works of charity. She is also a vegan, a member of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) and an animal rights activist.
