The release in one day of two different posters for Vijay’s 69th movie, Jana Nayagan has taken the film world by surprise.
The first-look poster and title revelation had only a lukewarm response – both for the title as well as for the poster design, as it gave very little indication of what the film was about.
This saw the release of a second poster, depicting Vijay brandishing a whip very much like the way MG Ramachandran held the whip at the beginning of the song Naan Aanai itaal from the film Enga Veetu Pillai, a song that catapulted MGR’s political career. For those who did not immediately make the association with the second poster and this song, the poster also has the words “Naan aanai itaal”.
