R. Madhavan’s first film for director Mithran Jawahar (Yaaradi nee Mohini and Thiruchitrambalam), titled Adhirshtasaali is now set for release on 07 March this year. The film is scripted by Jeyamohan whose film credits include Ponniyin Selvan 1 & 2, Viduthalai Parts 1 & 2, Papanasam and Vendhu Thanindhadhu Kaadu. The supporting cast includes Sharmiela Mandre, Sai Dhansika, Radhika Sarathkumar, Madonna Sebastian, Matthew Vaghese and Jegan.
In one of two interviews over the weekend, Gautham Vasudev Menon has confirmed that he is currently in talks for a collaboration with director Vettrimaran in which Ravi Mohan (Jayam Ravi) will play the male lead. Gautham was speaking to film journalist Baradwaj Rangan. In his other interview – with Gopinath of Vijay TV – Gautham controversially expressed his disappointment over Suriya dropping Dhuruva Natchthiram after initially accepting the role. That film was later relaunched and complered with Vikram in the lead role but still awaits release.
Vishal is still celebrating the surprise success of the release of his long-delayed film, Madha Gaja Raja directed by Sundar C. Three days ago he announced fresh projects – one helmed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, and the other to be directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu (Imaika Nodigal, Cobra and Demonte Colony 1 & 2)
Dhanush has signed on to play the lead role in two films produced by Vels Films International. One of these is to be directed by Mari Selvaraj who last worked with Dhanush for the film Karnan. Dhanush will also co-produce the film. Dhanush has also concluded talks to do a film for director Vettrimaran. This film will be produced by RS Infotainment, the producers of Viduthalai Parts 1 & 2.
Manikandan’s next film, Kudumbasthan is set for release next Friday. The comedy adventure is directed by newcomer Rajeshwar Kalisamy. The female lead is played by Saanve Megghana, with Balaji Sakthivel, Prassanna Blachandran and Guru Somasundaram also in the cast. Director-turned-actor R.Sundarrajan also plays an important role. Music is scored by Vaisagh.
