Song : Kalloorum
Film/Album : Veera Dheera Sooran
Singers : Haricharan & Shwetha Mohan
Lyrics : Vivek
Music : GV Prakash Kumar
Impact of the song
This is an instant chartbuster. The mellifluous voices, moving music and beautiful lyrics all synthesise into a song that is hummable and memorable.
Vocal rendition
The combination of Haricharan and Shwetha Mohan shows how different voice ranges can be used to compete against each other. I would have preferred Shwetha Mohan to take a lower pitch, especially in the opening lines but, as the song progresses, the combined voices get sweeter and sweeter.
Musical Arrangement
GV Prakash has shown great maturation as a composer. his recent melodies have been euphonic and his musical arrangements shows greater complexity.
Lyrics
Even the best melodies need good lyrics to ensure longevity for the song. Vivek rises to the occasion with lyrics that have high poetic value and very sweet to the ear.
Final Analysis
This is a song that one can easily have on loop as it has all the ingredients of what constitutes a great song.
