Impact of the song
This is one of the best songs in this hugely impressive album by Yuvan, blending all the elements of a good song perfectly.
Vocal rendition
Although singing is not one of Yuvan’s strong points, he delivers a sound rendition in this song. After a lean year last year, Javed Ali returns to Tamil music with a bang, bring a magical element to this song. Bella Shende, who was introduced to the Tamil music world by Yuvanshankar Raja in Silambattam (2008), has an enchanting voice and beautifully suited to this song.
Musical Arrangement
This is the old Yuvanshankar Raja back in glorious form with rich instrumentation and varied layers in the music that are simultaneously subtle and noticeable,
Lyrics
This one of Vignesh Shivan’s better lyrics of late and it is refreshing to encounter a lyric that uses the poetic quality of Tamil words so effectively.
Final Analysis
Nee Ennai has all the makings of a chart-topping song and is highly recommended for any playlist.
