Hansika Motwani turns 34

Hansika Motwani was born on 09 August 1991 in Bombay (present day Mumbai).

She made her debut to the Tamil screen opposite Dhanush in Mapillai, but it was with her second film – Yengeyum Kaadhal – where she starred opposite Ravi Mohan, that she found fame.

In 2012, she received her first Filmfare nomination for her role in Oru Kal Oru Kannadi.

In 2013, she starred in four Tamil films – R. Kannan’s Settai, Sundar C’s Theeyai Velai Seiyannum Kumaru, Hari’s Singam and Venkar Prabhu’s Briyani. This period saw her sign on more films.

Her luck at the box-office changed in 2016, with Aranmanai 2 and Manithan receiving mixed reviews and her other films failing at the box-office.

Hansika’s performance in Ravi Mohan’s Bogan received critical appreciation, but her subsequent films failed to impress critics or audience. He much-hyped 50^th film – Maha – suffered numerous delays and also fared badly when released.

Her last Tamil film, Guardian, had a lukewarm reception. She married Sohail Khaturiya on 04 December 2022.
