Inbanithi Udhayanidhi to make his acting debut

Inbanithi Udhayanidhi is to make his debut as a lead star in a forthcoming film to be written and directed by Mari Selvaraj. The son of actor-turned-politician Udhayanidhi Stalin, Inbanithi is the grandson of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M.K. Stalin and the great-grandson of former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi
Mari Selvaraj has put both his forthcoming projects on hold to take up this film that will attempt to launch Inbanithi as a saleable star.
Inbanithi made his foray into films as the new head of Red Giant Movies which recently released Dhanush’s Idli Kadai.
R Madhavan to produce and act in a new biopic

R Madhavan will play the title role in the biopic on Indian inventor GD Naidu, known for a long time as the Edison of India. Among his many inventions, Naidu invented India’s first motor engine and began what would eventually become a globally competitive industry.
Sathyaraj revealed this week that he will play an important role in the film, playing the role of Ramiah Pillai.
GDN is written and directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar who made his debutas a director in the recently released Oho Enthan Baby. The supporting cast includes National Award winning actress Priyamani, Padmashri recipient Jayaram and Yogi Babu. Govind Vasanth scores the music.
The film is co-produced by R. Madhan and his wife, Saritha together with Varghese Moolan and Vijay Moolan.
The cast and crew this week thanked Tamil Nadu Chief Minister for naming a new flyover after GD Naidu. Located in Coimbatore in northern Tamil Nadu and spanning 10 km, the flyover is Tamil Nadu’s longest flyover.
Subdued Deepavali line-up.

The Deepavali Box-office race this year does not feature any of the major stars, but provide an interesting and varied choice of films that would suit the celebratory nature of Deepavali. The three films in the running are Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dude, Dhruv Vikram’s Mari Selvaraj directorial, Bison and Harish Kalyan’s Diesel directed by newcomer Shanmugam Muthusamy.
Selvaraghavan’s Mental manathil nearing completion

Director Selvaraghavan is hard at work, trying to complete his long delayed film Mental Manathil which will see G.V. Prakash Kumar acting under Selvaraghavan’s direction for the first time.
G.V. Prakash will also be composing the music and producing it under the Parallel Universe Production House.
Madhuri Jain plays the female lead but Selvaraghavan remains tight-lipped about the rest of the cast.
The film is likely to release this Christmas.
Nayanthara’s next film announced

The first look of the Nayanthara-Kavin starrer, Hi was released this week. The film will be directed by lyricist Vishnu Edavan in his directorial debut. Vishnu Edavan has also been a directorial assistant to Lokesh Kanagaraj.
The film will be produced by Seven Screen Studio and has music by Jen Martin.
Arjun Das’s Bomb to release tomorrow on OTT
