Sibi Sathyaraj turns 43 today

Sibi Sathyaraj – also known as Sibiraj – is the son of actor Sathyaraj. Sibi made his acting debut, playing the male lead in Selva’s 2003 film Student Number 1. The film failed at the box-office, and Sibi then co-starred with his father in four successive films.

Sathyaraj then produced the film Lee directed by Prabhu Solomon which re-launched Sibi as a lead actor.

Three years later, Sibi starred in Shakti Soundar Rajan’s heist thriller, Naanayam. The film did not do well, but won critical acclaim for Sibi.

Four years later, he starred in Naaigal Jaakirathai, once again under the direction of Shakti Soundar Rajan.

In his subsequent films, Sibi enjoyed moderate success with films like Jackson Durai, Sathya and Walter.

He is currently shooting for Ranger and the sequel to Jackson Durai.
